This self-paced Introduction to Broadcast Journalism course offers students a dynamic and inclusive exploration of journalism in the modern world. From podcasts and livestreams to news anchors and digital video reporting, students will learn what it takes to become ethical, informed, and socially responsible journalists.

Through this course, students will critically examine media bias, misrepresentation, and the responsibility of journalists to amplify diverse voices. Designed to promote multicultural awareness and integrity in journalism, this class empowers learners to become the next generation of ethical storytellers and changemakers.

Learners will build essential communication and media literacy skills while exploring how news shapes communities and influences public perception. This course satisfies 0.5 Elective Credit and fulfills requirements for Speech and Arts & Humanities credit for high school students enrolled in Àbulẹ’s Accredited Program.
